ESPN Bet Sports Betting App and the Move to theScore Bet Sportsbook for 2026
If you are looking for ESPN BET, the app no longer exists. ESPN BET shut down on December 1, 2025, and PENN Entertainment, the company that ran it, rebranded the whole platform as theScore Bet on the same day. If you had an ESPN BET account, it is now a theScore Bet account, and your balance and open bets moved with it. Here is what happened and what to do next.
What happened to ESPN BET?
ESPN and PENN Entertainment ended their betting partnership early. They had signed a 10-year deal in 2023 that put the ESPN name on PENN’s sportsbook, but ESPN BET never reached the market share both sides wanted, holding under 5% in the US. On November 6, 2025, they agreed to wind it down. Two things followed:
- PENN relaunched its own brand, theScore Bet, across the US on December 1, 2025, replacing ESPN BET in every state where it operated. The app updated itself automatically.
- ESPN signed a new deal with DraftKings, now the official sportsbook of ESPN, which powers the betting tab inside the ESPN app.
If you had an ESPN BET account
You do not need to do anything. PENN moved everything across automatically:
- Your account, balance, and open bets transferred to theScore Bet.
- Your login is the same. Sign in with the details you used for ESPN BET.
- Your responsible gaming limits and account settings carried over.
- The ESPN BET app became theScore Bet the next time you opened it.
What should you use now?
It depends on what you liked about ESPN BET:
